Southern Cold Storage is a NEWLY built cold storage facility which opened its doors in 2016. We offer primary storage of frozen products, which offers a 3450 pallet store, based in Wadeville, close to all major highways for easy access. We are able to store products at temperatures from - 18°C to - 30°C, adhering to good cold chain requirements throughout the entire Logistics process. We offer both mobile and static racking, catering for all client needs.
We make use of market leading software which incorporates barcode scanning and excellent management and reporting systems to our clients.
All stock that moves through the store is labelled and tracked via our warehouse management system. Customers receive a stock report each morning with a detailed stock report weekly.
We pride ourselves in having a focused hands-on team, offering our clients quick vehicle turn-around and an efficient and professional service.

REFRIGERATION PLANT

- Water cooled condensing tower which reduces electricity consumption by around 30% from conventional dry cooling.

- Dehumidification system to ensure product shelf life by preventing ice build-up on products as well as equipment in the room.
- SCADA computer system controlled plant, ensuring technicians and managers have constant access to the health of the plant and can monitor the room remotely.
- Early warning emails are sent out should any fault occur on the system facilitating quicker turnaround times during breakdowns.
- Historical temperature data can be provided to any client who may require it for compliance purposes.
- Our control system is monitored 24 hours a day for any warnings or errors, via the SCADA computer system
- Dedicated response engineers to ensure any fault is rectified way before it can start to affect the temperature within the cold store.
- Alarm system, with an SMS to all key management and our dedicated electrician, on any power trips on the plant and in the event the Generator does not start up.
